I have to laugh as it appears we might have talked to the same staff member? Word is that he and his wife do a lot of complaining about Abbotsford so I have to wonder why they exploit this in front of staff? Or anyone for that matter? Not a very bright move. Now I was just there with a party of 8 for lunch on Friday and guess what, the doors were locked? After looking up the website after I saw your review, they do have notice about the lunch closure (they say summer) but what is odd is that I was just there two weeks ago and as far as I know it was summer back then? The staff member I spoke to, said the owner doesnt have two nickels to put together and refuse to change any of his ways to attract new clientele via marketing (non-existent) or any new menu ideas suggested to him by his cooks or staff. This could be why they are closing for Lunch and Brunch? The place was called Quazines previously and it was higher end and I agree they never got away from the upscale dcor (less linen?) and upscale attitude. Now the steaks are great but no one outside of a referral knows about this place. Its a shame because I know that this owner does a lot for the community or used to. I also support the independents but this staff member said that the owner and his wife wont listen to anyone and unfortunately what they think is working, isnt. I loved the brunch but even that got stale and cheap with less and less offered. I hope this place survives but one could sense in the last few weeks the writing is on the wall. Why dont you hear about this restaurant, other than an ad a couple times a year? I see ads for other restaurants every week in the paper but not this one. They are fools not to get the word out as even you see Nike Ads everywhere and there isnt a person on earth who doesnt know Nike exists but if you dont keep it in the public eye, they forget..Just my thoughts
